How do I cancel my Knowunity Pro subscription?

Refunds are handled by the store that charged you. Apple and Google decide on App Store and Google Play refunds; website purchases are refunded through Paddle.

How do I request a refund?

Restart the app, sign in with the account you bought with and use Restore Subscription in Settings. If that fails, send us your receipt.

I paid for Pro but it is not active

The store that charged you is the one that manages your subscription. Here is how to tell the App Store, Google Play and website purchases apart.

Where did I buy my subscription?

Most failed purchases are caused by parental controls, a store account from another country or an unsupported payment method. The website checkout is a reliable alternative.

My payment failed or I cannot complete the purchase

Pro is a renewing subscription. It charges again at the end of each weekly, monthly or yearly period until you cancel it in the store you bought it from.

Why was I charged again?

Free has limited daily usage, Pro gives you more and Max removes the limits. Here is what each plan includes and how usage limits work.

What is the difference between Free, Pro and Max?

A Pro plan belongs to one account. The family plan lets the owner add up to six people. Website purchases can be moved to another account by support.

Can I share my subscription or move it to another account?

Most sign-in problems come from using a different method than at sign-up. Check whether you registered with Google, Apple, email or a username before resetting your password.

I cannot sign in to my account

Tap Forgot password on the login screen, enter your email and open the link we send. The new password needs at least 8 characters.

How do I reset my password?

Check spam, confirm the address is the one on the account and request a new email. Google and Apple accounts never receive a password email.

I did not receive the confirmation or password reset email

Change your email in Account & security. You need your current password and access to the new address. Google and Apple accounts must set a password first.

How do I change my email address?

Delete your account under Account & security. Cancel any subscription first. Deletion is permanent and the email is free to use again after about seven days.

How do I delete my account?

Sign out other devices from Account & security and change your password. It can take up to 30 minutes for other devices to be signed out.

Someone else may be using my account

Pro, streaks and uploads belong to one account and cannot be merged. Keep the account with your subscription and delete the other.

I have two accounts. Which one should I keep?

Change your studies in Settings under Account settings. If your year is missing, change the school type first.

How do I change my school, school type or year?

Suggest your school from the school picker. We review suggestions and add the school to your account within a few days.

My school is missing from the list

Edit your username, display name and bio from your profile. Usernames are 3 to 20 characters of letters and numbers.

How do I change my username or display name?

Change the interface language under My language in Account settings. The content language is chosen per upload and follows your country.

How do I change the app language or my country?

Your profile and public uploads are visible to other students. You control who can see your school and whether each upload is public.

Who can see my profile and my school?

Share your code with a friend who is new to Knowunity. When they enter it during sign-up, or open your link within 24 hours of signing up, you both get three days of Pro.

How does the referral programme work?

Codes only work for new accounts on a device that has not used one before. You can add a friend's invite link within 24 hours of signing up. If the code was accepted, restart the app to see your Pro days.

My referral code did not work or the reward is missing

Your streak grows for every day you open and use Knowunity. Weekends and school holidays do not break it. A missed school day resets it.

How do streaks work?

Earn XP by studying to climb your weekly league. The top 5 in a league move up and places 26 to 30 move down. The Daily Quiz winner can earn a week of Pro.

Free users can attach up to three photos or files per message, Pro users up to ten. Documents can be up to 50 MB and 1,000 pages.

Enter the activation code in your child's app to connect the subscription to their existing account. Create an account first if they do not have one.

The parent dashboard shows your child's study activity for the last seven days without personal details or chat content.

What can I see as a parent?

Ask to Buy and Family Link can block in-app purchases. Approve the purchase or buy on the website while your child is signed in.

Uploads are checked before they go public. You can edit a note while it is a draft or after it was rejected, and appeal a rejection once.

Uploading study notes and what happens after

Each upload has a Make public switch. Folders are private unless you share them. There is no single switch for the whole account.

How do I make my content private?

Report an upload, comment, profile or message from its menu. You can also block a user. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team.

How do I report content or a user?

If your upload was rejected or your account restricted, you can appeal once in the app or through the appeal form on our website.

Students aged 16 to 22 can apply at knowunity.com/creators. Accepted creators hear from us by WhatsApp and email.

Cash out your creator earnings from the payouts page on the website. Choose a payout method and request a payout once you reach the minimum.

## Change the email in the app

1. Open your profile and tap the gear icon to open **Settings**.
2. Tap **Account & privacy**, then **Account & security**.
3. Under **Sign-in**, tap **Change e-mail**.
4. Enter the new email address and confirm with your password.
5. Open the verification link we send to the new address.

Your notes, folders, streak and subscription stay with the account. Only the login email changes.

## I signed up with Google or Apple

Accounts created with Google or Apple sign-in have no password yet, so the app shows **Set one first to be able to change your email**. Set a password under **Account & security**, then change the email as above. Afterwards you can sign in with the new email and your password.

If you used Apple's **Hide My Email**, your account has a private relay address. Setting a password and changing the email replaces it with your real address.

## I no longer have access to the old email

You do not need the old inbox to change the email. You only need to be signed in and know your password. If you cannot sign in at all, see *I cannot sign in to my account*.

## A parent's email is on a child's account

Sign in to the child's account and change the email to the child's address using the steps above. For privacy reasons support cannot change the email of an account on request.
