Kepler's Laws of Planetary Motion

Kepler's First Law states that planets move in elliptical orbits with the sun at one focus (not at the center). Ellipses have special properties - the sum of distances from any point on the ellipse to both foci remains constant. This shape has two lines of symmetry along its major and minor axes.

Kepler's Second Law explains that planets move faster when closer to the sun. A line connecting the sun to a planet sweeps out equal areas in equal time periods, meaning orbital velocity increases as planets approach the sun. This principle is why satellites in elliptical orbits can take both wide-angle and close-up images of planets by varying their distance.

Kepler's Third Law establishes that T² ∝ R³ - the square of a planet's orbital period is proportional to the cube of its average distance from the sun. This mathematical relationship can be derived by equating gravitational force with centripetal force, proving that orbital periods depend predictably on distance.

Real-World Application: Elliptical orbits aren't just theoretical concepts! Space agencies deliberately use elliptical orbits for satellites to allow them to get extremely close to planetary surfaces for detailed imaging while also spending time at safer distances to avoid heat damage.

The app is very easy to use and well designed. I have found everything I was looking for so far and have been able to learn a lot from the presentations! I will definitely use the app for a class assignment! And of course it also helps a lot as an inspiration.

This app is really great. There are so many study notes and help [...]. My problem subject is French, for example, and the app has so many options for help. Thanks to this app, I have improved my French. I would recommend it to anyone.

Wow, I am really amazed. I just tried the app because I've seen it advertised many times and was absolutely stunned. This app is THE HELP you want for school and above all, it offers so many things, such as workouts and fact sheets, which have been VERY helpful to me personally.
