Understanding Force and Net Force

Force is any push or pull on an object. The standard unit for measuring force is the newton (N). Weight is a specific type of force—it's the pull of gravity on an object. When objects move against surfaces, friction opposes that motion.

Understanding net force is crucial for predicting motion. Net force is the combined effect of all forces acting on an object. To calculate horizontal net force, add all forces acting left and right. For vertical net force, include weight W=m×g,whereg=9.8N/kgW = m×g, where g = 9.8 N/kg and any other vertical forces.

Remember that mass and inertia mean the same thing—they represent an object's resistance to motion change. Once you know the net force and mass, you can find acceleration using the equation Fnet = m×a.

💡 Quick Tip: When solving force problems, always draw a diagram showing all forces with arrows pointing in the correct directions. This makes calculating net force much easier!

The app is very easy to use and well designed. I have found everything I was looking for so far and have been able to learn a lot from the presentations! I will definitely use the app for a class assignment! And of course it also helps a lot as an inspiration.

This app is really great. There are so many study notes and help [...]. My problem subject is French, for example, and the app has so many options for help. Thanks to this app, I have improved my French. I would recommend it to anyone.

Wow, I am really amazed. I just tried the app because I've seen it advertised many times and was absolutely stunned. This app is THE HELP you want for school and above all, it offers so many things, such as workouts and fact sheets, which have been VERY helpful to me personally.
