# PEMDAS

PEMDAS is an acronym used to mention the order of operations to be followed
while solving expressions having multiple operations.

Understanding PEMDAS

PEMDAS stands for Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, and Subtraction. This handy acronym reminds you which math operations to do first when solving complex problems.

Different places might use different acronyms for the same idea. In Canada, they use BEDMAS (Brackets instead of Parentheses), while others might say BODMAS or GEMDAS. But they all mean the same thing!

When using PEMDAS, always start by solving what's inside parentheses first. Then calculate any exponents (like squaring numbers). After that, do multiplication and division from left to right. Finally, complete addition and subtraction from left to right.

Remember This! A fun way to remember PEMDAS is the phrase "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally." Each first letter matches the order of operations!

PEMDAS in Action

Let's see how PEMDAS works with a real example: $2 \times 6 + (8 - 2) - 2^3 + 3 \times 4$

First, solve what's in the parentheses: (82)=6(8 - 2) = 6 Next, calculate the exponent: $2^3 = 8$ Then do multiplication from left to right: $2 \times 6 = 12and and 3 \times 4 = 12$

Now our expression looks like: $12 + 6 - 8 + 12$

Finally, do addition and subtraction from left to right: $12 + 6 = 18 18 - 8 = 10 10 + 12 = 22$

Using PEMDAS guarantees that you'll solve math problems correctly every time. Without it, you'd get different answers depending on which operations you did first!

Try It Yourself! When you see a complicated math problem, just whisper "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally" and tackle the operations in that order.

The app is very easy to use and well designed. I have found everything I was looking for so far and have been able to learn a lot from the presentations! I will definitely use the app for a class assignment! And of course it also helps a lot as an inspiration.

This app is really great. There are so many study notes and help [...]. My problem subject is French, for example, and the app has so many options for help. Thanks to this app, I have improved my French. I would recommend it to anyone.

Wow, I am really amazed. I just tried the app because I've seen it advertised many times and was absolutely stunned. This app is THE HELP you want for school and above all, it offers so many things, such as workouts and fact sheets, which have been VERY helpful to me personally.
