Resources - is any means of supplying a material held in reserve which can be
transformed into more valuable and useful

Understanding Natural Resources

Natural resources are substances found in nature that we use to meet our needs. They're all around us - in the soil beneath our feet, the water we drink, and even the sunlight that warms our planet!

These resources come in different types. Some are inorganic like water and minerals, while others are organic like plants and animals. Resources can also be classified by how quickly they replenish. Inexhaustible resources like air and sunlight won't run out, but exhaustible resources like coal and oil can be used up.

We can also group resources by where they're found. National resources belong to one country, multinational resources are shared between countries, and international resources like air belong to everyone on Earth.

Did you know? You help conserve natural resources every time you recycle a plastic bottle or reuse a container at home!

The resources we use every day come from many places in nature:

  • Soil provides minerals and supports farming
  • Fresh water gives us drinking water and supports fish farming
  • Oceans provide salt, food, and many other resources
  • Plants and animals provide food and many materials we use

Renewable vs. Non-Renewable Resources

Have you ever wondered why some resources are better for the planet than others? The answer lies in whether they're renewable or non-renewable!

Renewable resources can be naturally replaced within our lifetime. They're usually more environmentally friendly and cost less to produce. Things like sunlight, wind, and forests are renewable because they naturally replenish themselves quickly when we use them responsibly.

Non-renewable resources exist in limited amounts and take millions of years to form. Once we use them up, they're gone! Oil, coal, and natural gas are non-renewable - they form so slowly that once we use our current supply, we won't have more for millions of years.

Our most important natural resources include clean air for breathing, soil for growing food, water for drinking, iron for building, and forests for clean air and homes for wildlife. Each of these plays a crucial role in our daily lives.

Take action! Recycling just one ton of paper saves approximately 17 trees and uses 50% less energy than making new paper!

Humans depend on natural resources for everything we do - from the food we eat to the homes we live in. By recycling, reusing, and being careful with how much we consume, we can help protect these valuable resources for the future.

The app is very easy to use and well designed. I have found everything I was looking for so far and have been able to learn a lot from the presentations! I will definitely use the app for a class assignment! And of course it also helps a lot as an inspiration.

This app is really great. There are so many study notes and help [...]. My problem subject is French, for example, and the app has so many options for help. Thanks to this app, I have improved my French. I would recommend it to anyone.

Wow, I am really amazed. I just tried the app because I've seen it advertised many times and was absolutely stunned. This app is THE HELP you want for school and above all, it offers so many things, such as workouts and fact sheets, which have been VERY helpful to me personally.
