Biogeochemical Cycles and Macromolecules
Photosynthesis and cellular respiration are vital processes that participate in multiple natural cycles. They directly impact the carbon and water cycles while indirectly affecting nitrogen and phosphorus cycles too.

First, the Light-Dependent Reactions occur in the thylakoid membrane where water is split, oxygen is released, and energy carriers (ATP and NADPH) are created. Then, the Light-Independent Reactions (Calvin Cycle) use those energy carriers to build glucose from carbon dioxide in the stroma fluid.
Helper molecules called NADPH and NADP+ play crucial roles by donating or accepting electrons during these chemical reactions. They're like delivery trucks that transport electrons where they're needed during photosynthesis.
