Polynomial Types and Basic Operations
Polynomials come in different forms depending on how many terms they have. A monomial has just one term like -20 or 3xyz. A binomial contains two terms such as 10x - 8. A trinomial has three terms like x² + 3x - 3.
When writing polynomials, remember that terms are connected by addition (+) or subtraction (-) signs. Proper monomials must have whole number exponents, no variables in the denominator, and no variable exponents.
Let's practice with perimeter and area calculations! For a rectangle with length 4x+3 and width 3x+1, we can find the perimeter using P = 2(length) + 2(width). This gives us P = 2 + 2 = 8x + 6 + 6x + 2 = 14x + 8.
Try This! Find the area of the same rectangle by multiplying length × width. The formula is A = . Can you expand this expression?

Standard Form and Degrees
Polynomials should be written in standard form - arranging terms with the highest exponent first, then decreasing from left to right. For multiple variables, list them in alphabetical order (like x before y).
The degree of a monomial is found by adding up all the exponents of variables in that term. For example, 2x²y² has a degree of 4 (2+2), while 3xy has a degree of 2 (1+1). A constant number like 3 has a degree of 0.
For entire polynomials, the degree is simply the highest degree found among all its terms. For instance, 10x² - 4x + y⁵ has a degree of 5 because y⁵ has the highest exponent sum.
Remember: When a variable has no written exponent (like x), its exponent is understood to be 1.

The app is very easy to use and well designed. I have found everything I was looking for so far and have been able to learn a lot from the presentations! I will definitely use the app for a class assignment! And of course it also helps a lot as an inspiration.
This app is really great. There are so many study notes and help [...]. My problem subject is French, for example, and the app has so many options for help. Thanks to this app, I have improved my French. I would recommend it to anyone.
Wow, I am really amazed. I just tried the app because I've seen it advertised many times and was absolutely stunned. This app is THE HELP you want for school and above all, it offers so many things, such as workouts and fact sheets, which have been VERY helpful to me personally.
