# Limits for photos, files and messages in the AI chat

> Free users can attach up to three photos or files per message, Pro users up to ten. Documents can be up to 50 MB and 1,000 pages.

## Attachments per message

Attachments can be photos, scans or documents. In some versions of the app the free limit applies per day instead of per message. The app shows which limit applies to you.

## File limits

- Documents can be up to **50 MB** and **1,000 pages**.
- Supported formats include PDF and common image formats. If the app says a file is incompatible, export it as PDF and try again.
- Large PDFs take longer to process. Keep the app open until the upload finishes.

## Daily usage

Free accounts have a daily usage allowance for AI features. When it is used up you can wait for the refill, watch a short ad or upgrade. Pro raises the allowance and Max removes it. See *What is the difference between Free, Pro and Max?*

## The upload fails

1. Check your connection and try again on Wi-Fi.
2. Make sure the file is under 50 MB.
3. Update the app to the latest version.
4. If it still fails, send a report from the app by shaking your device, or use the [support form](https://knowunity.com/support) under *Technical problem* and attach a screenshot.
